The green villa apartment

We very much wanted to move out of the Golden Gate Hotel as soon as possible. We could give a list of our motivational reasons! But of course the most important one of them all is that we were in the need of a place in which we can feel at home. A true home. During the search for our home, we met a real friendly real estate; he took us to some suitable apartments with his car. Very nice of him! Luckily the search didn’t last long, since it was a bit crowded in his vehicle (6 people in an ordinary car).

Luckylucky

(Or not?) That’s the name of a small company that rends motorbikes. Here we found our ‘new’ motorbikes. We pay 70 dollar each month. Elien got a red one, that makes a noise like a truck driving backwards whenever she turns her flashlights on. Karlien got a green one, alas not quite matching the color of the ‘green villa apartment’. At first we hesitated a little to jump on our new motorbikes. The Luckylucky is situated nearby a big road with loads of Khmer traffic. Did we already mention that we never really drove a motorbike as well? So it took some courage! But everything is possible (especially here in Cambodia). Nowadays we drive around with confidence obeying the Cambodian traffic rules… But now we are also aware of the meaning of the word ‘new’. Changing gears is a problem for Karlien. Not that Karlien is unable to; blame the motorbike! We both have some problems with the speed indicators and we sincerely hope that our brakes will last.

But most importantly: the tooters work excellently!
